Last week Constructing Excellence, Cheshire, Warrington and Wirral club ran an event hosted and sponsored by Project Five Consulting Ltd, the authors of the latest Constructing Excellence report.
With a mixture of contractors and clients in the room, round table discussions sparked a strong debate on the state of the UK construction industry, what needs to be put in place to ensure improved change can be made and where we see our industry future developing. We asked the room to provide recommendations on 8 different topics of discussions: Leadership and Management, Lessons learnt, Sector approach, External Influences, Evidence, Government, Skills & Training and a 'Wild Card', the wild card gave them the option to share any further recommendations that didn't necessarily fit into the other categories.
This gave each individual table the opportunity to discuss their opinions on the industry and their recommendations on how we need to improve and develop, we then asked them to rank in order of importance to establish the level in which these recommendations should be considered.
